Compact PoE module compliant with IEEE802.3af, supporting Mode A and Mode B
The WIZPoE-P1 is an isolated Power over Ethernet (PoE) module that extracts power from an Ethernet cable and provides a regulated 5 V DC output to a host system. Compliant with IEEE 802.3af, it supports both Mode A (Endspan, power on data pairs 1/2 and 3/6) and Mode B (Midspan, power on spare pairs 4/5 and 7/8) and is polarity-insensitive on both inputs. The integrated bridge rectifiers, isolated DC/DC converter and feedback regulation deliver up to 9 W (5 V / 1.8 A) with high conversion efficiency. The module requires an external network transformer for data communication and is intended for integration into a host PCB. Typical applications include IP cameras, network access points, IP phones, surveillance systems, network attached storage and embedded IoT nodes. The chip input withstand voltage of up to 100 V protects the host design against transient overvoltage on the Ethernet line.
